Description and Composition of Neurovit/Neurovit Forte
Neurovit Forte is an oblong, peach film-coated tablet, convex tapes and scored on one face.
Each tablet of Neurovit Forte contains:
- Thiamine Mononitrate 242.6 mg
- Pyridoxine HCI 2500 mg 1
- Cyanocobalamin 1.0 mg
Each tablet contains of Neurovit contains:
- Thiamine Mononitrate 97.00 mg;
- Pyridoxine HCl 50.00 mg
- Cyanocobalamin 100.00 mcg
Actions and Pharmacology of Neurovit and Neurovit Forte
Cyanocobalamin
Cyanocobalamin acts as a coenzyme for fat and carbohydrate metabolism. It is essential for growth, replication haematopoiesis and nucleoprotein and myelin synthesis.
Thiamine and pyridoxine
Thiamine pyrophosphate and pyridoxal phosphate, the physiologically active forms of thiamine and pyridoxine respectively, act as coenzymes for various metabolic functions affecting protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. The B vitamins are readily absorbed orally except in malabsorption syndrome, metabolised in the liver and excreted via the kidneys.
Indications and Uses of Neurovit/Neurovit Forte
Neurovit Forte
For treatment of peripheral neuropathy and neuralgias
Neurovit
For treatment of nutritional vitamin B1, B6 and B12 deficiencies, peripheral neuritis and in conditions requiring increased intake of Neurovit components such as in alcoholism, hepatic disease, hyperthyroidism, infection, lactation, pregnancy and malabsorption syndromes.
Contraindications of Neurovit/Neurovit Forte
It is not recommended for patients with Leber’s disease since optic nerve atrophy may occur.
Precautions
- Caution in patients with history of gout or hepatic disease
- Do not exceed the recommended dosage during self medication with Neurovit Forte Tablet
- Follow physician’s directions if medication is prescribed
Main Side and Adverse Effects of Neurovit/Neurovit Forte
Diarrhoea and ching may occur occasionally
Drug Interactions with Neurovit Forte
Neurovit Forte Tablet may reduce the effects of levodopa
Overdosage
Neurovit Forte Tablet is usually well tolerated

Adults: Oral 1 tablet daily, or as directed by the physician
